So I have an hour until dinner, so I’m stealing some time to update everyone on training camp and stuff. The last four (almost five) days have been awesome. We’ve heard some incredible teaching on a number of different topics (be prepared for about 800 blog posts over the next couple weeks as I process all of it); I’ve been getting to know my team and getting ready to serve with them in England. The weather has been pretty nice with almost no humidity since Friday! It’s been getting really cold at night, but I’ve been able to deal with it. It’s hard to believe we’re leaving day after tomorrow!
My teammates and leaders are great. It’s definitely been hard in some ways to be constantly around guys, but AIM put us together with the Dominican Republic and Peru teams for team-building exercises, so I’ve been able to have some really good female interaction as well (like when all 4 of us cuddled on Chelsea’s bed during quiet time yesterday). And then today, we got a new teammate! Hilary was supposed to go to Africa but has been sensing that God really wants her to be in England this year. So now I have another girl!!! 🙂
I miss everyone alot… I think. I haven’t had much time to think about it yet, but I’m sure it will hit me when I’m fully out of the country. Thank you to everyone who has called and left messages on my cell phone; it’s been so encouraging to hear from you and to know that you love me. 🙂
We’re not sure if the wireless internet will be set up when we get to England, so don’t worry if you don’t hear from me right away. I’ll try to be in touch as soon as I can.
Please be praying for Hilary as she goes home to re-pack for England and travels by herself to join us in Manchester. Please also pray for safe travel for all of the AIM teams who will be heading out on Wednesday.
Love you all,
Katie
