It’s hard to believe I’ve been home for more than a week already, and that today is Christmas Eve! I’ve spent the last week surviving an ice storm, visiting with friends and family, baking LOTS of cookies for my teammates, and handing out Christmas presents from England. I’ve had “weird” moments like seeing a bus and thinking of Blackley (and all my many bus rides there over the last three months), watching a Christmas program at a local elementary school and thinking all the kids looked like kids I know in England, and thinking people were driving on the wrong side of the road (don’t worry… I wasn’t driving at the time).
So now here we are at the day before Christmas… and I’m packing to go to Florida! My parents’ Christmas present to us kids this year is a trip to Florida to go to Disney and Universal, see Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group, and just have fun. It’s kind of weird that we won’t have the traditional waking up and opening presents, watching the Disney Christmas parade, and eating a smorgasboard Christmas dinner. But I’m quite excited to spend the next five days hanging out and relaxing with my parents and siblings. I’ve decided not to take my computer with me, so I won’t be checking e-mail or Facebook or anything while I’m gone; if you need to get in touch with me, call my cell phone.
I pray you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas. May you experience the joy and peace of God in new and awesome ways!
Love,
Katie
It’s possible I may have been driving on a very non-busy street late at night, while talking on the phone. And it’s also possible that while I was doing this, I was actually on the left side for half a mile because when you talk on the phone and you drive, you just drive very instinctively.
Just possible
