Sunday is the first of two one-month marks. One month from August 12th, I will board a plane to Georgia for training at AIM headquarters (one month from August 19th, I will board a plane to England!). I have been sensing God nudging (ok… pushing, really) me to spend some time in prayer and fasting before I go, so I’ve decided Sunday will be the start of that. For the entire month, I’m planning to fast from TV and having my computer in my room (two of my biggest distractions) and from sweets. For the last two weeks, I’m planning to do a raw fruit/veggie fast (I’ll only eat raw fruits and veggies). I want to use this time really prepare myself for the next eight months of my life, to spend time with God, and to spend time praying for the people of Salford and Manchester.
This entry is not to brag about what I’m doing, but rather to ask for accountability. Feel free to ask me how the fast is going and how my time with God has been. I would also love it if you would join me in at least committing to praying every day from August 12th to September 12th for me, my teammates, the trip, and the people of England. I’ll try to post specific prayer requests for each of these categories.
May God be glorified as I prepare for eight months of life-changing ministry!
