That’s the only word I can use to describe the last two weeks. The day I posted the entry titled “A Little Worried”, I also sent an update e-mail and letter to both people who had already made financial contributions and those who had not yet. I let them know what the support situation was, and asked them to pray and to let me know soon if they were planning to give and how much. I wanted to make a decision by August 1st as to whether or not I was going on this trip. By the 1st, I had only heard from a few people, but after talking with my parents and Vicki and listening to God, I decided that I am supposed to be on a plane to England on September 20th. I was going to step out in faithful obedience to God’s call and trust that He would provide the needed funds. And oh how He has blessed that step!
With what has been contributed and what has been verbally committed, my fund status stands at 80% of the $9500 AIM requires! I am truly blessed to see the generosity with which people are giving to this ministry. People are giving more than I could ever have imagined they would, and I am so blessed to know that are giving so I might have this opportunity not only to share the Gospel with people who so desperately need it, but also to grow in my own relationship with God.
In addition, a couple at my church informed me that they are planning to cover my airfare, which is most of the extra $2000 I was hoping to raise; my parents are taking care of school loans I couldn’t defer; and the doctor I went to for my physical managed to work it out so I was only charged $55 instead of the $179 I had originally been quoted!
God has been so gracious! I am undeserving of any of this, and yet He has chosen to bless me beyond my expectations. What an awesome and wonderful God we serve!
