Today was one of the most exhausting and exhilarating days of my life! I went with Chad and Drew (two of my leaders) and Ian (the vicar at St. Andrew’s) to do some hiking on the piece of England that sticks out between Liverpool and Wales. Our first stop was a nature area that had some pretty cool sandstone formations. Then we headed to the coast where we walked out to two “islands” that are accessible during low tide. The wind was blowing (not gusting but blowing) at about 20 mph, and we were walking directly into it for our trip out to the islands. Needless to say, I’m going to be sore for the next few days as I was using muscles I didn’t know I had in order to walk against the wind! It was like walking against the current in a “lazy river pool”… only about 10 times worse. But I made it! And the views I got to see were totally worth it. I learned a few things about myself along the way: I’m capable of keeping up with the guys (for the most part) when walking into the wind, but not so much when trying to climb down slippery rocks; I LOVE experiencing God through His creation; and I’m even more afraid of heights when it feels like the wind would like to knock me off of them.

Here are some pictures from the day. If you’d like to see more, just let me know.
